Updating the CRInfo Database — Balkan Project
Delia Despina Dumitrica
Masters Program in Peace and Conflict Transformation at Tromoso University, Norway
The goal of this grant was to update the CRInfo database with organizational and project entries for Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. Ms. Dumitrica surveyed the many NGOs with whom she had contacts and others identified through various directories to increase the information in CRInfo about the peace and conflict transformation NGOs working in this region. Although response was not as high as we or she hoped, she was able to add 39 NGOs and 39 projects to the CRInfo database. In the way of outreach, Ms. Dumitrica sent out 400 postal mail and email letters about CRInfo, so even if NGOs did not respond, they may now know about us and be using our site. Another useful offshoot of her work was that she used the CRInfo data entry system to input her data and gave us feedback on ways that the system needs to be improved. This feedback is being used for the next upgrade to CRInfo, to take place shortly. This project does not have a URL, as the information was inserted directly into CRInfo.
